ASTRONOMICAL INSTRUMENTS REMOVED.
HONG KONG, December 3
Astronomical instruments erected by Jesuits on the walls of Pekin have been removed. Half of them are destined for Paris, and half for Berlin. This vandalism is excused on the ground that the Court is unlikely to return to Pekin, and that the instruments are endangered by the populace.
