AUCKLAND. September 11. At the Magistrate's Court tho Hagan family of artixt«* sued Jolin Fuller, the wellknown entertainer, for £46. arrears of »-la.rv -Juid return fares to Melbourne. The Magistrate disallowed the claim for back salary, but gave judgment for Hagan for £22, the amount of fare, to "Melbourne, and costs. A boy named Alfred" Scopes, aged fourtMi, •waa leading a horse at Manukau Heads, when the animal took fright, and the lad wns drugged through the stumps and Ws. When found he was quite dead. NAPIER. At th« Magistrates Court to-day, Mary Kdith M.cGrwgor, lately barmaid at Searle's JJoU-1. was conunitied for trial on a charge of having stolen £6 la, money, belonging to l!n> hotel. Tlie evidence showed that tha proprietor had a (suspicion that money w:is> Wing abstracted from the till, and the present charge was laid in consequence, Rpeci-llv marked coins having been found in tho girl's private box.
