AUCKLAND. September 11. At the Magistrate's Court tho Hagan family of artixt«* sued Jolin Fuller, the wellknown entertainer, for £46. arrears of »-la.rv -Juid return fares to Melbourne. The Magistrate disallowed the claim for back salary, but gave judgment for Hagan for £22, the amount of fare, to "Melbourne, and costs. A boy named Alfred" Scopes, aged fourtMi, •waa leading a horse at Manukau Heads, when the animal took fright, and the lad wns drugged through the stumps and Ws. When found he was quite dead. NAPIER. September 11. Frederick Sand*, charged _.t tbe Supreme Court with fraudulent bankruptcy, baleen acquitted. WEI.LTXGTOX, Septet-tar 11. At th« Magistrates Court to-day, Mary Kdith M.cGrwgor, lately barmaid at Searle's JJoU-1. was conunitied for trial on a charge of having stolen £6 la, money, belonging to l!n> hotel. Tlie evidence showed that tha proprietor had a (suspicion that money w:is> Wing abstracted from the till, and the present charge was laid in consequence, Rpeci-llv marked coins having been found in tho girl's private box. The girl denied having ' talren tho money. # and offered to par tho whole amount missing.
