(FROU A CORRESPONDENT) WELLINGTON, September 7, The exhibits which the City Council \riU send to the Canterbury Jubilee Exhibition will include oil paintings of some historic interest, among them portraits of fit Featherston and Sir Geo. Grey. While giving evidence at the inquest y„. terday Dr. Fy_e protested against the condition of the mortuary chamber at the morgue, which, he said, was insanitary to a disgusting degree.
In a speech delivered in the Legislative ' Council yesterday, in support of Mr Jennings's training ship scheme, the Hon. 0,0 Bowen said, in effect, "Has the BurnUtaa Industrial School ever been in a satisfacton state? It has never been. There is a half smothered mutiny always going on in that place. I don't know why, but I think it. a ~ m part due to a want of the discipline thai men accustomed to the sea are better A%h ■ to enforce.
