The Duke of Argyle, and the Earls of Selborne, Jersey, and Hope town, are mentioned as probable to supply the first Governor of Australia under the Commonwealth. (Received July 10th, 12.45 a.m.) The "Standard" states that the proclamation will probably fix January Ist next for the commencement of the Commonwealth. (Received July 10th, 1.15 a.m.) MELBOURNE, July 9. The Premier has congratulated Mr Barton on tlie successful accomplishment of the delegates' labours, and has cordially thanked him.
