LORD METHUEN ORDERED, TO RETIRE.
A CONVOY ATTACKED BY OJWO THOUSAND BOERS.
THE -ENEMY REPULSED.
Lord Methuea, -wiho was at Zvrart't kopjes, was ordered to retire to Boshof on Friday. . Two thousand Boers, with, three guns, advancing towards Boshof, fiercely attacked a portion of Methuen's force, consisting of Kuriberley Mounted Rifles and Yorkshire Yeomanry, : which (protected' a convoy six miles long. The British took cover on the kopjes. The Boers fought skilfully and determinedly till vfch© moment they came witihin three hundred yards range, when they were repulsed, Buffering heavily. There were several British casualties. The ooavoys were saved.
