LINCOLN.
Tlie ordinary meeting of this Board waa held on Monday, 2nd April. Present — Messrs J. W. Overton, P. Henley. H. Paterson, H. E. Peryman, and Jas. Sinclair. The manager of the water-race wrote asking permission to make a race on the Hal swell road, by Ladbrook's, past Reserve 214, and R.S. 2108. It was resolved to grant permission, conditiorfallv upon a strong culvert being placed in the race, at the entrance to the gravel pit. The monthly report was read and considered. With reference to gravelling on White's and Leadleys road, as no tender waa sent in for this work, it decided to extend the time till the 6th; inst., the members of No. 2 subdivision to open tenders. Mr Wm. Payne was the successful tenderer for carting clay on the Shand's road. It was decided that the election for No. 1 subdivision be held on the first Tuesday in May, and that for No. 2 subdivision be held on the first Thursday in May. In reference to TJavies's drain, it was decided that the clerk should see what work is required, and have it done. Mr Peryman said that his attention had been drawn to some very foul places in the district, and suggested that the Board should be formed into a Board of Health, so that they could deal with the question. At the suggestion of the Chairman, the question was deferred till after the election.
