CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD, PHILLIPSTOWN.

On Christmas Day at this church there was a choral celebration of the Holy Communion at 6.30 a.m., at which there was a good attendance. Through the kindness of lady members of the church breakfast was provided in the school, adjoining the church, for those-.-who .had come any distance. At 10.30 a.m.. at matins, the anthem was "For unto you is born this day in the city of Judah a Saviour which is Christ the Lord" (Stainer), and in ths second celebration of the Holy Eucharist (choral) Mr Andrews, lay reader,, assisted at matins, when 'the vicar, the Rev. H. E. Ensbr, gave, a short address. The church was most tastefully decorated. White flowers only were used in the sanctuary, and in the rest of the church there were ted and whote flowers, evergreens and .toi-toi. The services were under the guidance of Mr Irving* organiit and choirmaster.
