AKAROA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
L The ordinary meeting was held on Weda nesday evening. Present—The Mayor, Crs. * Taylor, Harrison, Vangioni, Earnshaw, 1 ' Munro, Penlington, Orbell, Chappell, and a I Leete. It was decided to hold Arbor Day t on Thursday, July 20th, and to make it c a public holiday. A petroleum license was i granted to Mr G. F. Lelievre. The Chair-. Ij man of the Finance Committee reported g with reference to unpaid scavengering rates, 6 and it was resolved .to sue for those outn standing. The financial statement showed *• • receipts to be £2f)l 7s. Accounts were Q | passed for payment amounting to £32 7s. a i The sum of £15 was voted to the Public n Library. The tender of Mrs Ditely for '» reserve at £12 per annum, was accepted. c ' Mr T. N. Grange's application for re-lease -- lof reserve was granted.
