■» ■ •■ - _; . The ordinary meeting of the Committee of the Industrial Association was held last ' night. Present—Messrs W. W. Charters (President), Pine, Hart, Congreve, Cogah, Msddren, Triggs and Hepburn. Apologies' . were received from Captain McClatchie, t Messrs Beaven, Allan and Moon. . The President reported that the canvassing for shares in the Industrial Hall was being pushed on vigorously. The A. and P. Association had agreed to vote £25 towards the £50 to -c offered for a prize design, rmd : it would be for the Committee to vote the share of the Association. On the motion of Mr Hart, seconded by Mr Pine, it was resolved—"That the Industrial Association I vote £25 towards the cost of, the prize def sign." The President brought forward the question of "the Exhibition, and suggested I that the Committees should be appointed. } Mr Triggs moved —"That a general meet- \ in-r of members of the Association be con- ; vened for the ordinary date- ol the Committee meeting in July, for the purpose of elect--5 ing Sub-Committees for the Exhibition." Mr Congreve seconded the motion, which E wis carried. Mr Hepburn moved —"That > a Sub-Committee be formed to communicate - with the Premier, asking for a- subsidy in 5 aid of the Jubilee Exhibition, and that the I. Canterbury members be requested to sup--5 port the -proposal. Such Sub-Committee i to consist of the President, Messrs Horsley , and Hart." Mr. Hart seconded the resolub tion, which was agreed to. The President - mentioned that he had seen in an English . paper that in the decorations of the Royal 3 train for the Prince arid Princess of Wales j the most noticeable was those in New Zeal land kauri. He detailed the result of the ; Conference with the Canterbury members by . the Railway League.
