THE NEW CABINET..
THEIR ATTITUDE ON THE DREYFUS QUESTION. United Press Association—By Electric . Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS, June 23. The moderate Republican are stupefied at the compositionoosf s the French Cabinet. They describe M. Waldeck-Rous-seau as a prisoner of the Socialists. . General Gallifet desires Dreyfus's acquittal, and an amnesty for the general staff. June 24. The anti-Dreyfusites are furious with the new Cabinet. The bulk of the Social and Radical members of the Chamber support the Cabinet. General GaHifet'a appointment as Minister of War is intended to break the power of the generals and. cause a reaction. M. Waldeck-Rousscau informed the prefects of the departments that the Ministry had been formed on the hasis of the defence of the Republic, and that it was the duty of the prefects to maintain respect for national institutions. To ensure order they must act, if necessary, spontaneously. General Gallifet informed the t Military Governor of Paris and the commanders of the various army corps that he assumes the responsibility for the army. He relies upon them, as they may upon him, to discharge their duties to the Government and the Republic LONDON, June 24. The Paris correspondent of "The Times", states that the new French Ministers, who are men of talent and goodwill, suspended any. personal rivalries with a view of stopping the anarchy prevalent among all ranks.
