AN ESCAPEE'S EXPERIENCES.
The prisoner Aldridge, \rho escaped from the Wellington gaol recently, has been captured on the Rimutaka hill, in the vicinity of Feat hers ton, by Constable Cariyon and his son, and was brought to WeHiugton on Saturday morning. Aldridge states that alter his escape, which was trfected easily, he remained on the hills in the vicinity "0/ Wellington for two or three days, and then tried to stow away to Palmerston in a railway goods' truck. Finding that did not avail Him, ho walked over to RimutaWa, and was making for the East Coast when bailed up near Featherston by the younger Carlyon, who, with others, were on the look out lor him, they having got the hint that Aldridge was making for the country. The prisoner declares that his only food for a week was the fruit he robbed from orchards. When arrested he was wearing clothes apparently stolen during his freedom.
