HALSWELL.
The ordinary meeting of this Board was held on the 30th' January. Present—Messrs Garforth (chairman), Rhodes, and Lewis. An from Messrs Harman and Stevens for permission, to sink a trial well on a strip of waste land adjoining the Heathcote river near the Wilderness road bridge, was granted. The secretary of the Waimakariri Riyer Board requested to be supplied with the valuation of the district, and tho Clerk was instructed to forward the information. The forwarded copies of the Stock £&. A letter from the Springs Road reference to the destruction of sma'l birds was received. Tenders were opened .cleaning of rivers and drains, aiid that of Mr Sparks accepted. Accounts amounting-ta £66 8s lid were passed for payment. .
