HANMER SANATORIUM.

As a result of the recent visit of the Minister for Lands to Hanmtr l'lains, and the large increase of visitors to the Sanatorium within the last two years, the Government have decifled to increase the bathing accommodation, and also the accommodation at the Sanatorium. A large gasometer is being erected in which to store the natural gas from the springs, the intention being to light the whole ot the Sanatorium buildings Mitii gas. At present the reading-room adjoining one of the baths is lit with natural gas. The instruments necessary to ascertain the state of the atmosphere and direction of the wind have arrived at Hanmur, and very shortly daily reports will be sent out.
