There were swing rides, donkeys, bathing machines, three~shies-a-peimy men, pitch and toss men, the cheap photographer, and booths for apples, oranges, and cakes, to say nothing of summer drinks. All enjoyed themselves, and the sand seemed alive with people. A baud discoursed alternately sentimental and lively strains of music, while an energetic and thoroughly successful secretary (Mr W. Bergh) kept things going. His duties were as multifarious as Pooh Bwh's, but he literally took off bis coat and worked the livelong day. The sea was perfect, tinted green and blue in the sun, till ft seemed alive aod smiling, so calm was it. Very many took advantage of its rippling smoothness to bathe. The races were exceedingly good. Ryan, a cornet solo by Mr Derry, and musical items by Messrs Post and Hall.
