A VIOLIN BOW OWNED BY VIEUXTEMPS.
Ovide Mann continues to be very much in evidence in New York. He has just completed two concert mazurkas for violin and piano accompaniment. One has been dedicated to Mr Victor T. Flecater, at whose studio in New York the late Reinenyi's famous collection of vkaLine and bows are on exhibition. M. Mosiir, while examining his European moil the other day, and reading an account of the Vieaxtempe celebration at Verviers, was asked to examine an old violin box thai had been found in a collector's place in London. Henri Vieoxtemps. la Sociate Greiy. 1822.' This bow was made by the cslebrated French maker Tourte, and presented to the great Tiolin virtuoso by the "Society named. The historical bow was immediate*"? , bought by M. Muain, and has since been examined by experts, and its value has been estimated at £80. The Belgian violinist is very proud of bis find, and will carry it back to Liege with him.
