MINING NEWS.

The legal manager of the Waiwhero, Sluicing Company, Mr H. A. Bruce, has received a telegram from the Company's engineer, Mr H. W. Young, advising that the return for last week was 68 ounces amalgam, for 94 hours only of sluicing, with six heads of water. This return is 50 per cent, better than the previous week, the result for that week being 70 ounces amalgam for 144 hours sluicing with seven heads of water.
