RIFLE SHOOTING.
The annual meeting of tho Woodend Rifle Club was held on Thursday. Shooting was fairly good considering the small amount of practice members had had. Although the weather was fine, a choppy nor'west was blowing, and the light was bad towards the finish. Some very handsome trophies were presented to the winners by Mr James Judson, treasurer of the Club. The competitors were photographed. There were three ranges for the firing—2ooyds, 300 yds, and 500 yds — and the scores, with handicaps, were :—John Stalker, Woodend, 200 yds 30, 300 yds 24, 500vds 33, (handicap 11), total 98; J.
