A meeting of the Committee of the Christ. church Cycling Club was held last nighty Mr W. E. Thompson occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance. A letter was read from Mr H. Cole, stating that Mrs Cole would provide afternoon tea on Thursday at the hill climbing competition. A letter was read from the , Invercorgill Cycling Club, asking the assistance of the Committee in obtaining the next League championship held in Invercargill. The letter was received. A letter was read from Dr. Palmer, acknowledging with thanks his re-election as Vice-President of the Club. „ The letter was received* The Chairman reported the business done at the! Conference with the Pioneer Qlub, A 1 ; letter was read from the Registrar of Friendly Societies, pointing out that the rules* of the Club forwarded to him for approval clashed with section 2 of, the Aotf, In rule 1 the words "cash rider" were introduced, and reference; was also made to "The League of Wheelmen," which was a reference in the rules to the rules of another Society, which would not be accepted. It' was resolved to alter the rules as referred to by the Registrar,. and to forward the rules so altered for approval. A letter was read from the Executive of the League of New Zealand, 'with reference to the visit of a team of Australian cracks to New Zealand, and asking the Club for their views on the -proposals for finance and racing.. After eqme .discussion it was.resolved-to reply that the Oommitteo were in favour of Walne coming by himself. ,'Ji this were done the Club would be willing to pay their share of the expense, and* put out a liberal . programme to be carried out under the joint auspices of the Christchurch "arid Pioneer Club% The draft programme for the New Zealand Wheel Race,. in .December, was con- : sidered, and it was determined, to'hold another meeting to finally dispose of ifc. t The meeting then adjourned. .
