London, June 10. The Bank of England reserve is £27,386,000, and the stock of gold coin and bullion £34,542,000. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is
49.18. In circulation £27,459,000; public deposits, £10,911,000 ; other deposits, £44,554,000; Government securities £13,807,000; other securities, £32,648,000. Consols, 111^.
New South Wales 4 per cents, 118; 107 vS del,- 100. Victorian 4 J per 3£*do,losf. South Australian 3£ per cents, 110; 8 do, 102. Queensland 4 per cents, 110£; 8 J do, 105. New Zealand 4 per cents, 114$; 8£ do, 107; 3 do, 99J. Tasmanian 3| per cents, 109. West Australian per cents, 105. Wheat—The English, Continental and American markets are all lower, and the American market is declining steadily. For Victorian wheat shipped early in May 41s 6d is offered. Sugar, steady; Java 12s 7£d, German 9s 9d. Iron, 465. . The Bradford wool market is improving. Three months , bills are discounted at H per cent. Silver is quoted at 2s 2|d per oz. 1 Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London office, under date 9fch inst.:— "Frozen Meat — The market is weak and prices are easier. " Wheat—The market is unchanged and transactions are limited so far, though there is a somewhat better demand. "Hides and Leather—There is a fair demand at last quotations. "Basils—The tone of the market is lees firm."
