THE BRUNNER MINES.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)

WELLINGTON, June 10. Owing to the injury sustained by the Brunner mines lying idle the Government has decided to give the lessees seven days' notice to resume operations, otherwise the Government will re-enter.

The loss of wages owing to the cessation of operations in the Brunner mines amounts to £3000. The miners are already to begin work in twenty-four hours' notice. All the contracts held by the owners are being carried out by other companies at the risk of the former.
