Aβ will be seen by a notification elsewhere the annual general meeting of shareholders of the Lancaster Park Company will be held on the 27th inst.

Mr W. W. Collins, having been called back from Auckland to officiate at the funeral of the late Miss Winter, will lecture in the Lyceum to-morrow on " Gladstonestatesman and controversialist." Mr Collins returns to Auckland on Wednesday next. Messrs Hayward and Son have just completed some large additions to their exten•ive premises known as the Rink Stables, the extension running right through into Armagh street. It is not intended to alter the portion fronting Gloucester street, except that the part now used for trap washing will be fitted as a depot for cycles and a ladies' waiting room. The new addition, which is of briok with iron roof and gable ends, is 135 x 66. The firstjaortion after passing through the old stables is to be devoted to a harness room and office. On the western side is a commodious trap washing stand, with a plentiful supply of water. (There are also nine commodious and roomy loose boxes fitted with every convenience. iFhe remainder of the western side is to be devoted entirely to carriages, with the exception of a colt yard and place for handling young horses at the northern end hear the Armagh street entrance. On the eastern side is provision for twenty-five roomy atalla, whioh will be a great addition to the already large amount of room for horses possessed by the firm. There is a blacksmith's shop connected with the building fronting Armagh street, and an excellent pitched entrance from the same street. The stables are connected with the main sewer, and altogether reflect great credit on the pluck and enterprise of the firm. The formal opening will take place at 3 p.m. today, as notified elsewhere.

This includes pictores of the principal sights in Christchurcb, Dunedin, Wellington, VVanganui, Auckland and the Lake district, &c. This should be a most interesting exhibition, and no doubt there will be a large audience on the occasion.

As will be seen by a notification elsewhere, an adjourned meeting of master bakers, to form an association and deal with the question of wholesale dealers, will be oeld to-night at the Shades Hotel. The Novelty Advertising Company anBounce that the competition closes on June 30th. The prizes are of great value, a:id *** of the most useful variety. A meeting of the Lmwood Borough Council will be held on Monday next at 7.30 p.m. to hear and determine objections and claims with regard to the burgess list.
