BICYCLES FOR FIREMEN.

The London firemen are now mounted on bicycles. Reporting a serious fire, which broke out at the large chemical manure works of Messrs Morns and Griffiths, at Newport, on March 28th, the London "Daily Telegraph" says that on tne alarm being given the firemen on their bicycles were quickly on the spot, and though a large portion of the premises was destroyed, together with valuable stores and machinery, they were able to keep the flames from a- new glue factory, recently erected at a cost of £10,000.
