GAZETTE NOTICES.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, April 28.
The Gazette contains further alterations made in railway rates for technical schools and commutation tickets, and in the local rates on tbe Hokitika and Brunnerton lines, also the Midland railway. The Public Trustee gives notice to claim unoccupied sections in Opotiki and Patea, Waverley and South Dunedin.
Regulations extending the grant of " distinguished conduct," " meritorious service," and "long service" and "good conduct" medals to the New Zealand permanent forces as authorised by Royal warrant of May 31st, 1895, came into force on April 22nd. The New Zealand long service and good conduct medal is now abolished. These Imperial medals are of silver for each of the three classes.
The Gazette contains a notification that the Mataura seat became vacant on April 19th by reason of Mr Richardson's bankruptcy.
