Drunkenness.—Thos. Brown charged with this offence. He had been brought up on Thursday, and then said that when taken to the look-up he had been assaulted by the polic«. Constables Cassells and Scott now stated that when they tried to search him he resisted violently, and they put him down, one holding while the other searched him. No unnecessary violence was used. The accused was fined ss, or in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Prohibition Orders.—Orders were issued concerning John H. Preston and Wm. M. Jordan, to be current in Christchurch and suburbs for one year. Miscellaneo vs. —A charge against two youne men of stealing old nine, valued at fls 9d, was dismissed. Mr Donnelly appeared for tho accused.—J. Garrett, for driving a vehicle insufficiently lighted, was fined ss, with costs 7s.—Thos. Torish, a boy, for whom Mr Hunt appeared, was fined 5s for assaulting Ruth Foster.—For neglecting to send their children to school, the following parsons were fined 2s each:—C. Hodge 3, S. Barrett, G. Warren, D. Hughes, S. Anderson, H. Baker, R. Foster, R. Newman, H. Hodge, W. Hop?, A. Brookman, S. Whittington, J. LeSueur, W. Townsend, D. MoKeown, J. M. Willis, T. Bradshaw, H. Williams, J. Fletcher and J. Scarlett. Mr Fisher, in all the oases, appeared for the truant officer.
