PRESIDENT'S CUP MATCHES.

The contest between the unbeaten Midland and Lancaster Park No. 1 teams was commenced at Lancaster Park on Saturday, when a capital wicket was provided, but the home team, who went in first, made a poor use of it, and at the call of time the Midland had a decided advantage. Scores—Lancaster Park 30 (Stringer 10), Midland 229 for nine wickets (D. Fraser 124, J. Reese 46, H. Garrard 29, and O'Farrell 10). O'Farrell and Costelloe bowled splendidly for the Midland, the former taking seven wickets for 15 runs, and the latter two for 8, while Brinsden trundled best fof the Park, who batted a man short. United v Sydenham No. I—Batting first, the United were disposed of for 100 runs, Maude showing good form for 26, and Wiggins playing very carefully for 29. Jones got the majority of the wickets, and was well backed up by Potter. At call of time the Sydenham team had lost two wicket? for 133 runs. Goodman was top ecorer with 68 not out, the other contributors being Jones 24, Hepburn 19, and Ayrey 11 not out. Midland No. 2 scored 168 against Lancaster Park No. 2 (Bnchanan 58, A. Hardy 33, Green 15, Cnllen 14), and the Park responded with 70 for six wickets (Heury 21 and Goodman 18 not out). #
