RANGIORA.
The ordinary meeting of the ftangfora Borough Council Was held on Wednesday evening. There were present the Mayor and all the Councillors except Cγ. Cone. Letters were read from the Secretary Lands Department re a proposed fowl across the River Ashley, and from fclr H. W. Bishop, S.M., fixing'aclay for hdlrfing an enquiry with reference to the same. The Mayor, Cra. Carmichael and Gopd were appointed a Committee to represent, the -views of the Council. The Mayor was appointed attend the meeting for the election of a member of the Hospital Board to represent the borough. The financial statement shovral '.jw3e»ipfcH--for : the month to he £20 Bs, dr. balance at Bank £96 12s ; accounts wei-e passed for p&ymtsut amounting to £65 5s Sd. The Town Clerk read the half-yearly balance-sheet of receipts and expenditure, duly audited, which was adopted. A motion was passed asking the Mayor to allow himself to be nominated for another year of offioe.
