A SELF-DENYING RESOLUTION.

" A lot of rabid people in the colony with as much sense as a lot of old mules," was (reports the Kew Zealand Times) Mr Maskell's definition of what he called the followers of the Rev. Leonard Isitt at the meeting of the Thorndon Bowling CJub last week. Amid much laughter the members of the Club applauded Mr MaskelJ, who went on to move pro forma that no alcoholic liquors be supplied at the green. Hβ hoped the resolution would not be carried, and would not respect ie if it was. Mr Burns seconded the resolution, also pro forma, but, curiously enough, it was carried unanimously. One member remarked that there was nothing to prevent a member bringing his own bottle and refreshing his friends.
