THE TASMANIA.

(PRKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM )

W-LLINGTOK, August 23. The Chief Postmaster at Napier telegraphs that Mahia reports smooth water and south-west wind. He states that the mast of the Tasmania has disappeared, which may be the result of the vessel having sunk lower or fallen over on her side, or, perhaps, been broken by the sea. The Hinemoa will take to-morrow a diver and superior gear to the wreck of the Tasmania, with a view to securing the mails.
