IN BANKRUPTCY.

(press association telegram-*.)

AUCKLAND, August 23. Mr Justice Conolly suspended the discharge o£ a Tbankrupt named George James Robert Dormer for twelve months.

WELLINGTON, August 23. J. T. Hall, a grocer, a bankrupt, had his certificate suspended for two years. The Official Assignee stated that it was a very extreme case of bad bookkeeping and the bankruptcy directly resulted from this cause. In another case Mr Justice Edwards took occasion to remark that a judgment summons was a bad system which needed reform. The Official As-siguee agreed that it ought to be modified, but there waß uo doubt it would be somewhat difficult. In eases where a man owed, say, under £50 in all, if a summons was issued the order should be made applicable to all the creditors. He intended to confer with the Justice Department on the subject.
