ROAD BOARDS.
KOWAL The ordinary'nieeting of the Board was held' on the sth insfc. Present—Messrs Holdsworth (Chairman), Dick, Mathers, Banks and Evans'. The tenders of Messrs J. Tombs for cleaning Dock creek and A. Boyce for. cleaning the Leithfield outfall drain were accepted. Correspondence read—From Messrs Duncan and. Cotterill, relative -to the state of Ward's creek, Amberley. The Surveyor •was instructed to inspect the creek and communicate, the Board holding the owner responsible for any damage that might be caused tol*awcock's road. From the Charitable Aid; and Hospital Boards, notifying the atn6ttnts required from tile Board, as contributions for' the current year to be ' £1415 18s 7d and £136 17s respectively. Mt£ Evans undertook to take the Hawkers Bay Relief Fund matter in. hand. -.The Surveyor was instructed to for delivery of ehingle for' several roada ; attend to the Dalbeg road complained of by Mr Davis; and report on the fdrainage of Banks' road, Duffel's and BullwinskelPs drain. Resolved —That all rates unpaid on the Isfc June be sued for, together «ltb ; 10 per cent, added. The Clerk: was a special meeting,of;-the new Board about the 17th mat., and the meeting, passing accounts amounting to terminated.. : The annual 7 meeting of ratepayers was held at noon' the Same day, the Chairman of the Board .presiding. The Chairman read the annual balance-sheet and' report, giving full details of the work in the past year, the balance-sheet being unanimously passed subject to audit. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the members for their services for the year. .
