RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.
Wednesday. Another five morning for training operations saw Cutts first at work with hi 3 team. This was about half-past five, Manawanui and Goldleaf being sent for a strong six furlongs, the pair finishing well together. Choroid and and Seashell traversed a furlong further at a useful pace. Admiralty went once round steadily, Salvo Shot and Sprig of Myrtle once at half pace. put in six furlongs at three-quarter speed, and Skirmisher a circuit steadily. Wedlock and Powder Monkey ran six furlongs fast, coming home together. Clarence and Dumlop after galloping five furlongs cantered a circuit. Mauser, in sweaters, went twice round, Jewel and Jib were given a few lessons at the barrier, and trotted and cantered once" round afterwards. Belligerent went twice steadily, and Barmby once. Boreas trotted a circuit, and at half-pace worked out the same distance. Tally-ho, after going a round steadily, traversed another fast. Telemeter and Maximus cantered.., -Vanilla was stretched out over seven furlongs alone, and went nicely, and Social Pest also galloped the same distance strongly; Female Franchise running a furlong less at her best pace. Daunt trotted '* and cantered twice round. Bloomer and Barshot were on the walking list. After breakfast Maremma and Lord Rosslyn were stretched out over six and a half furlongs. Leda and St. Elmo were sent a good striding gallop over six furlongs. Montacute registered a sound mile and a quarter. - Speculator and Alcestis ran six furlongs fast, Bogengang going along part of the journey with them. Don was sweated, and Black and Red with the rugs on was taken along fast over the last of her circuit by Belle Clair, who accompanied him for a round.
The horsea GoMspnr, Stockfish, Prospect, Tiara, M&rlin and Plotter came op by the express last night. . The final payment for the Juvenile Stakes, to l>B decided at the May Meeting of the Canterbury Trotting CloS, most be made to-day.
