LANCASTER PARK THIRTEEN UNITED THIRTEEN.
Play in this game was continued at Hagley Park on Saturday. The Park, with live wickets down for 39, increased their score to 116 before the last man was disposed of, Hobbs, who played a good innings of 32, Labatt, and Cant being the principal contributors. The United fielding was good, and Kitto and Reeves were the most successful of the bowlers tried. The United had a lead of 16 runs in the first innings, but when they went in for a second time Reeves, who the Lancastrians assert was stumped off Smith at the start of his innings, was the only man to make a lengthy stand, and at the call of time the score was 67 for the loss of nine wickets. Smith bowled finely for the Park, taking seven wickets for 18 runs, and the fielding was good. Scores :— UNITED THIRTEEN. First Innings ... ... , ~. 132 Second Innings. H. M.
