SELWYN.
The quarterly meeting of the Selwyn Licensing Committee was held at tfco Darfiold Courthouse, on Friday. Mr H. W. - Bishop, S.M., .presided. Mr Donnelly, on behalf of Mr .Findiey Campbell, applied for a transfer to him of the Lincoln Hotel from John Moffatt. Tho transfer was _ granted. The reports of the police on the ~ various licensed houses in the district were to the effect that all of them were well conducted. At the conclusion of the formal business it was proposed and seconded, and carried unanimously— tl That the Committee - dosire to place on record its appreciation' , of the uniform courtesy , extended to the elected' members Of the Committee by Mr Bishop, S.M., during his term of office. 1 ' It was mentioned by 'the mover of the resolution that the Committee had been elected as a Prohibition Committee. Iv reply, Mr Bishop said that he appreciated the resolution carried by the Committee. Though they might not all agree: On .every question he could honestly say that he had done his utmost to carry out the wishes of the Committee. Aβ. representing the nominated element he recognised that lie had no right to set up his opinions against thoso of the elected element* It was a pleasure to him to find at the. end of the. terra of three years that his octiena would be appreciated.
