The return match between the Wholesale and Retail Chemists was played at Hagley Park yesterday, and it excited more than ordinary interest, a large number of spectators being present, including several ladies. The Retail went in first, and, notwithstanding the good bowling oi Low, who took eight wickets, and Dewe, they made 88, Vangioni contributing 30, Kiver 21, and Quill 11. The Wholesale only made 30 in their first attempt,* Quill and West dividing the wickets between them. The Retail were dismissed for 44 iv their second venture, Parsons and Lawrence dividing the bowling honours. The Wholesale were thus left with 103 to make to win, and although Lawrence hit well for 23, he received but poor support and the innings closed for 68, the Retail thus winning by 35 runs. Afternoon tea was provided, and a band was on the ground to enliv.n the proceedings. Fuhrmann's defeated the Farmers' Cooperative team at Hagley Park yesterday by 53 runs and two wickets. Scores — Farmers' Co-operative 74 (Pickers 26, Murphy 15 not out, and Petrie 13) ; Fuhrmann's 127 for eight wickets (Richards 48, M. Robertson 39 and Pago 12 not out). Richards and Smith bowled well for tho winners, and Ridley and Blunden for the losers. A match was played yesterday on the Midland ground between teams representing the Hardware and Sydenham and Addington Cricket Clubs, resulting in a decisive victory for the former by 73 runs on the first innings. The scores were .•—-Hardware 128 (Henry 30, C. Frankish 30, Turner 26), Sydenham and Addington 55 (Preece 14, Jones 10, Robson 10). E. Frankish, Turner and Page trundled well for Hardware, while Robson and Selby were most successful for the suburban club.

A friendly game of cricket was played on Thursday between the junior clubs of Messrs Ballantyne's and Strange's, and resulted in a win for the former by an innings and 11 run!-. McClelland aud Wilson played best for the winners, and Raven and Tullock for the losers.
