ROAD BOARD.

•a*' CUST. The monthly meeting of this Board was held on December 14th, all the members being present. Correspondence was read— From the Mandeville and Rangiora Road Board, sanctioning repairs to Wilder's Hill road, also with account for half cost of surveying and conveying to both Boards the gravel reserve purchased from Mr Meredith. From the Oxford Road Board, informing the Board that they consider it only necessary to open the outlet to the drain opposite Findley's, and that they had decided to have that done. Mr J. G. A. Ruddenklau waited on. the Board, asking to have pipes put across the South Boundary road to drain the road and land, he to pay one-third the cost, the West Eyreton and Cust Road Boards to pay one-third each. It was agreed that the work be done with 6in pipes, this Board to do the work, also that Mr W. Woods be employed to lower the pipes in the gully near his place for £2. It was agreed to shingle the South Boundary road where rotten, about two chains, with eleven yards to the chain. Mr T. Brown's offer to break metal for the Board waa accepted. It was proposed by Mr Tallott that no single man get any day work from the Board. Seconded by Mr W. J. Atkinson and carried. It was agreed to shingle about six chains of Green's Gully road. It was resolved that notice be sent to theownerof the traction engine carting flax on the roads that he will be held responsible for auy damage he has done, or may do, to the bridges in the district, also a notice to be inserted in the papers that the bridges in the district are not safe for traction engine traffic. Two tenders were received for dog collars, and the lowest was accepted. Accounts to the amount of £42 2s 9d were passed.
