Thursday, December 17. (Before C. A. Wray, Esq., S.M., and T. C. Upton, Esq., J.P.) Prohibited Persons.—ln cases heard last Court day against P. Muschamp, a prohibited person, for being on licensed premises, and G. McWilliams, for supplying that person with liquor, Muschamp was fined 20s on each information, and McWilliams 40s with costs in each case. Impounding Case. —Nicholas Welsh, farmer, Chertsey, sued W. de B. Corapton, ranger, for alleged illegal impounding of 656 sheep. Damages £10 were claimed for overdriving, and it was also sought to recover the impounding fees, £7 14s 6d. Mr Wildingfor plaintiff, Mr Purnell for defendant. Evidence was taken at considerable length, and his Worship reserved his decision. By-Laws.—A. McCallum was charged with 'riding a bicycle on a footpath. Case dismissed. H. Friedlander was fined 5s for allowing a cart to obstruct a footpath. A. H. Williams was charged with a similar offence and dismissed with a caution. Thk Half-Holiday.—A charge against Fletcher Brothers, for keeping their shop open till half-past two o'clock on the afternoon of Thursday, November 26th, was dismissed. Mr Wilding appeared for the Inspector, Mr Crisp for the defendant. Rescuing a Horse.—A case against Joseph Tait, of rescuing a horse from the custody of Spencer Compton, ranger, was dismissed. Mr Cnthbertson appeared for the poundkeeper, Mr Crisp for the defendant. Civil Cases.—J. Heseltine v Mrs Geo. Tait, £5 12s 6d; J. Orr and Co. v Crosbie, £10 16s lid, and Ferriman y Hartle, £10 ss. Judgment for plaintiffs in each case.
