THE CONVENT SCHOOLS.
The presentation of prizes to the pupils of the Boarding and High Schools of the Monastery of the Sacred Heart took place yesterday afternoon. His Lordship Bishop Grimes presided, and there waa a very large attendance of parents and friends. A lengthy musical programme was given by the young ladies most successfully. Amongst the items specially deserving notice were "The Nightingale and the Rose," a song l>y the yemng ladies most artistically accompanied by Miss Fowler, to whom, by the way, the success of the entertainment was mainly due; two harp solos by Miss Young, which were nicely played; a song " The Flowers," by the young ladies, the solos in which were very well sung by Miss Rita Arenas, and the overture " Poet and Peasant." Miss Rita Arenas gave a recitation well, as did also Mi sees R. Young and Lena Stratz, both doing capitally. The prizes were distributed by the Bishop, who gave a short address. There was on view some really magnificent needlework which has been executed by the pupils.
