MB CULLEN'S MUSIC TEACHING.
TO -t_CB EDITOR OF THE PRESSf
Sir, —Kindly allow mc space" for aT few remarks on the letter of Mr F. C. Gerard (Sec. Typographical Society) in this morniug's Press. Mr Gerard states I did not write complaining of Mr Cullen holding two billets. If I did not do so it was simply because I thought it useless. Quite eight months ago I, aa Secretary of the Society of Professional Pianists—under instructions— wrote to him complaining of another person who was doing the same tiling. This person, who was fully employed at his ordinary trade, *flpas engaged for three successive seasons to provide music for an assembly called the Typographical Quadrille Assembly, and which, if not actually run by his Board, was at least largely patronised by members of his Society. Mr Gerard never answered my letter, and from all I can learn never even produced it at a meeting. His printed statement is the first I have heard from him. _,-
He now states the subject matter did not concern bis Board, and that he handed the fetter to those interested (whoever they may Jje). I thought then and still think it is a matter _ which should closely interest his £oard. The question at issue is, one man one billet, and if this is not a subject for bis and all other Unions I would like to know what is.—Yours, &c,
