AUCKLAND, September 14> A man, named Robert McLeod, a seaman belonging to the barque Himalaya, while returning on board at night, slipped from the railing of the ship and thence tabr the water. His body is not vet recoveredHe was under the influence of drink; A- young man, named A. -McGruer, me_ withan accident at Maekay town on Saturday while playing in a footbaUmatch. The injury, which is considered very severe, is on tfi* head. The match, it appears, was excep« tionally rough, five players being laid out during its progress. WELLINGTON, September 14. James Oabomo, custodian of the Wadesr town School, fell over a bank last week, ana received such injuries that he died yestep day. He never regained consciousness. DUNEDIN, September 14. John McLandress, leather seventy-five years of age, dropped dead thift afternoon while speaking to a shopkeeper. The death is supposed to be due to heart disease. He was an old colonist.
