MINING NEWS.

(By Telegraph.) (prom our correspondent.) AUCKLAND, September 11. The market has shown much activity during the past week, and the tone to-night is very healthy. Sheridans have been fluctuating, an<l are now firm at 4s 6d, while Harp of Tara and Ohui have also been in considerable demand. Germanic eased down to Is, and some considerable business was done in Golden Points and Nonpareil. Waverleys also firmed, selling up to 2s Bd. From private advices received it is anticipated that the London market will open very strong, and with a good demand for New Zealaud properties. The Warden has intimated that he does not intend to be so easy in granting protection to claims. He will require some proof outside the usual declarations that the property has been " sold to a powerful syndicate.'' He will require the name of the syndicate.' (press association telegram.)
