The weekly returns of the Bank of England published to-day show the total reserve to be £33,322,000, and the proportion of reserve to liabilities 56.94. Three mouths' bills are discounted at 13-16 per cent. Consols, 112 ex interest. New South Wales 4 per cents 122J, 8& ditto IO9J-, 3 ditto, 105£ ex interest; New Zealand 4 ditto 118, 3£ ditto 108f, 3 ditto 101f, ex interest; Victorian 4 ditto 114f, 3£ ditto 107; South Australian 116 and 109k ; Tasmauian 3i ditto West Australian 8£ "ditto 112*. Mutton, New Zealand first quality, S|4, second 3d. Lamb 4^d. fcfemp is unchanged. Sugar, quiet. German bset, 9s l£d ; Java lls 6d. The English wheat market has undergone a general decline of 3d. The Continental is dull and American changing a little for the worse. Colonial oats, fine, 24s 6d; common, 22s 6(1. Beans, 275. The Bradford wool market is improving. Iα tallow there is excellent business, and the general impression is that the upward movement will continue. Mutton, fine quality, 23s 3d ; medium, 19s. Beef, fine, 18s 3d; medium, 17s 6d. Iron, 46s lfd. The Australian mutton combination has failed, &s one large holder of Sydney slieep is selling below tho minimum pric6 fixed.
