A NATIONAL PROTEST. Press Association—By Telssrr^ph—Copyrijc'ut. Constantinople, September 4. The Armenian Committee announces that it will not shrink from any sacrifice of life in order to compel the European Powers to intervene in the present struggle, and that the throwing of dynamite bombs will continue until reforms at least equal to those conceded to the Cretans are granted. London, September 4. Mr Gladstone, in an interview, said he deplored that Europe was k insensible to the infamy of the assassinations of the Ottoman throne. September 5. The Byron Society is organising a national protest here, and is convinced that Lord Salisbury will unanimously support effective action being taken to end the reign of terror in Turkey. The Duke of Argyle will preside. The Sultan demands the extradition of the Bank rioters from Marseilles. They will probably be sent to America. German newspapers declare that a recurrence of the massacre will be likely to cause further dynamite outrages, and assert that the iuacfcion of the Turkish police and military indicates the Sultan's complicity in the massacro. The French Government is iucreasing its fleet in the Levant.
