BRIDLE PATH, LYTTELTON.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —I have read with pleasure the remarks .from "A Long-Suffering Resident" of the bridle path, published in to-day's issue of your paper, and can fully endorse what he says iv reference to this muchneglected locality. In addition to the hole mentioned by your correspondent, there are several struts of timber abutting from a fence ou to the footpath. Anyone not knowing of their existence would easily be tripped ou a dark night. Bub these are not the only difficulties in and on the Bridle Path. House property cannot easily be let, the would-be teuaucs remarking that the roads are so bad you cannot reach your residence. Now bhab the winter is on us, possibly the repairs will be somewhat hastily executed —this, of course, we expect —and other long-suffering residents will have their growl, let us hope nob ab tbe much-abused Councillors, wiio would do this much-needed work if they were nob so much occupied with other matters of equal importance. Trusting we shall soon see an army of workmen in this locality—l am, &c., Another Long Suffering Residbnt.
