TO THEM THAT HAVE, &c.

TO THE EDITOR OT THE PRESS. Sir, —The malicious innuendo contained in the letter sigued "Nob this sort of Liberal," calls for refutation on my part. The social in question was simply a gathering of the friends over whom Mr Collins presides, in order that they may have an opportunity of snyint. good-bye before he goes to Wellington. Mr Collins is merely their guest, and received absolutely no pecuniary benefit, nor has he ever received such beuefib from any social ever held iv the Lyceum. If the letter was written to damage Mr .Collins aud to assist Mr Dacombe, 1 am afraid it will have the opposite effect. —Your.-, kc, Secretary Freethought Association.
