SYDENHAM V EAST CHRISTCHURCH.
These teams met at the Sydenham Park on Saturday, Sydeuham wiuniug by eight points (one goal from a try and a try) to nothing. The game was hardly exciting until towards the close of the game when a draw seemed likely, as the eight poiuts gained by Sydenham were made iv the last five minutes of the game. There was no score in the first spell, though Sydeuham narrowly missed gaining a try on more thau one occasion. The game iv the second spell was confined chiefly to dribbling play, and the passing that was tried wast not of a very *hi«h order. Shortly before tha end of the game J. Ford rushed up a kick and dribbling over the Hue, scored a try. No goal was kicked. The return from the kick out being fumbled by two of the East Christchurch backs, J. Ford again followed up well, dribbled over, and scored close to the posts. The try „w&a converted. Mr Sopor acted as referee.
