Caiso, April 8. The Khalifa has suspended the Mecca pilgrimage, and is levying a war tax. The Dervishes of Fashoda and Darfur have been recalled to Omdurman, and it is intended to assemble 50,000 men iv September. London, April 9. Russia 13 said to be vainly urging Germany to embarrass England with respect to the occupation of Egypt. Ottawa, April 8. The Canadian Government cabled to Mr Chamberlain offering to provide a regiment of militia for service in the Soudan.
