ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES,
An accident which ended fatally took place iv front of Burke'a Hotel on Tuesday evening. A man was crossing the street when he was kuocked down by a cab. He was taken to the Hospital, where it was found that the base of his skull had bacn fractured. He died at oue o'clock yestsiday afternoon. I'he deceased was yesterday identified as a station blackamitn, named Robert Milne. Hβ had beeu in town about a week, having recently come from Ashburton. Some years ago he worked at Riccarbon. Aα inquest will probably take place to-day.
At Sprinufield yesterday a man named William Vickery fell down a shaft., 3 diabance of SOtt. He is badly bruited but has sustained no serious injuries.
