(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS-) WELLINGTON, March 7. The Horowhenua Commission has decided to begin its enquiries at the date on which the original block was divided into thirteen, reserving the right to go further back if necessary. The evidence will be taken separately aboub each of the blocks, and consequently many witnesses will have to be called each time. The proceedings at Levin will probably last a number of weeks. At the University Senate to-day degrees of M.B. and Ch. B. were conferred on Miss E. H. Siedeberg. A number of Bills for new Statutes were passed and the session then closed. Since the recent accident on the tratnear, by which three men were badly injured, there has been a good deal oi discussion about the shortcomings of the tram service. A projeot is now on foot to construct a new tramway, running through the town to Island Bay. DUNEDIN, March 7. Mr Ralfe, clerk of the Police Court here, who has been transferred to Oamaru, has been presented by the Law Society with an illuminated address, and by the Justices with a purse containing twenty sovereigns.
