CHRISTCHURCH ELECTION.
A very largely attended meeting of Mr T. E. Taylor's Addiugton Committee Was held on Tuesday evening in the rooms, Selwyn street;. Arrangements were perfected for the complete- canvass ot the Addington Ward, and reports received ot the mos*) favourable nature. The Committees of the Newton, Sandridge, and Waltham Wards are full, and a surplus of workers who offered their services have been attached to the Committees for the city portion of the eleotorate. The supporters aud friends of Mr Charles Lowis are invited to meet at the Knightstown Library, St. Albana, at 7.30 p.m., to arrange for a Committee for the district, &s. A meeting of the friends and supporters of Mr T. E. Taylor was held in the St. Albans Public Library Hall, St. Albans lane, last evening. There was a very good attendance, and Mr Brown occupied the chair. Mr Taylor's remarks on general political subjects were attentively listened to, and at the close Mr Jft. Coleman moved-—" That the meeting thanks Mr Taylor for his address, is satisfied as to his ability to fittingly represent the constituency in Parliament, and pledges itself to do its utmost to secure his return." Mr Philpott seconded the resolution, which was carried unanimously. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the meeting. A strong and active Committee met afterwards, and made arrangements for the thorough working of the district in the interest of the candidate. Mr T. E. Taylor will deliver his first address to-morrow evening at the Opera Hou3e, Tuam street.
