THE CZARINA AND HER BABY.

It is an interesting fact that the Czarina insists, contrary to all tradition and custom, upon nourishing her infant daughter herself. A large number of Russian peasant women were gathered fiom various parts of Russia in order that a suitable wet-nurse might be selected for the Imperial Grand Duchess. According to The Times correspondent, cone of them was to be the mother of fewer than two or of more than four children, and those of dark complexion were to bo preferred. Hor Imperial Majesty, however, as the latest offiaial bulletin announces, has taken this important maternal duty entirely upon herself, and is probably tbo first Empress of Russia who has ever done so.
